We will be holding a meeting on Thursday December 17th at 7:45am for parents who are interested in working with our Area Superintendent, Richard Swanberg and myself to provide input on our school overcrowding plan. Please note that being part of this group will require flexibility and several visits to the school during school hours in the coming weeks.
Ms. Krissy Brown
Mt Rose is one of a handful of WCSD schools that must come up with a plan to address overcrowding. We are the voice of the parents and kids.

Contacts and Research Tabs
I have added a lot of great information onto two new tabs. They're kind of hidden if you're looking at the blog on a phone, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up. Please look for the "Home" line with a little arrow at the end. It's at the top of the page. If you touch the little arrow, you can select the other two tabs and get all the info on the Board of Trustee's (find out who represents you) and read some of the research that supports our school as a model for others to follow!

Overcrowding Committee to be Formed!
Just got this from Krissy:
Hi everyone! I just received word that our overcrowding proposal for an extension to allow us more time has been approved! So...we will be forming a parent and staff overcrowding committee (approx 6 people) to meet either bi-weekly, or monthly to come up with a plan for Mt Rose. I'm meeting with district officials right after Thanksgiving then we will let you know how the committee will be formed. Thank you for all of your support! I'm truly thankful for our awesome school and all of you!! Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone!!

Upcoming Meetings
This is a quick and critical time to get our voices out there. Here's the meeting schedule and how the process works.
Our Area Superintendent, Richard Swanberg, will present his recommendations to the Board of Trustees "before Thanksgiving".
Here's the Meeting Agenda
I've heard this committee described as the group that will become the lobbying group for next November's legislative session. This is the group to be part of and aware of for long-term solutions.
Here is the Meeting Agenda - It's not filled in yet, but this is where it will be posted.
This is where they will vote on the immediate solution for Mt Rose.
November 24, 2 - 6 pm, Central Administration Building, Board Room, 425 East Ninth St.
Here is the Meeting Agenda
They won't be discussing Overcrowding here, but they do have 2 public comment times available if we want to speak.
Please use the comments below to discuss how to address these meetings.
